Advocating for Foster Youth with Shalamar Parrish

Shalamar Parris is an author, entrepreneur, and clothing designer devoted
to community advocacy while being a vanguard for change. Shalamar grew up in
a challenging environment in Ohio that led to her resiliency towards being a
changemaker to transform lives. Due to her family connections, foster care
placements, and more: Shalamar has devoted her outreach to assisting those in child
welfare and those affected by human trafficking.
She is also an advocate for the (USIAHT) U.S Institute Against Human
Trafficking for Men, Women, and Children. She created her writing brand known
as “Leading Lady” and her novel debut was released in February 2022. Her
acclaimed novel is also loosely based on her true life. Her clothing brand is
2Days Woman, a featured online apparel boutique. Shalamar uses
the proceeds from her author and clothing brands to support her outreach efforts
in the community at large.
She proudly served in the U.S. Army and is now an honorable Veteran. Her
passion for helping others is unmatched. When she is not writing or running her
business, she enjoys reading, writing, traveling with family and friends; and
doing as much outreach as possible.
