In this podcast episode, you will hear about Carl.
“Carl” was not really named Carl. However, that is the nickname he acquired as a child in foster care in our home. He was the sweetest and possibly one of the happiest little boys we have ever had the pleasure to meet on our foster care journey.
Carl was placed in foster care a few days after his birth. His biological mother was in prison when he was born. Her mom was supposed to come to pick him up and never showed up.
His great-aunt would have been a safe and loving home. Unfortunately, a midwestern storm ripped up her roof, and her home needed repairs. A fly-by-night company took her money and never came back to finish the job. So she was unable to care for Carl until she could get it fixed properly.
That took a lot of time, so he lived with us for the first year of his life.
As a result, he shared the first year of life with our family. It was a wonderful experience for all of us. You can hear all about it in this episode.
